Blue Posts

The Beatles enjoyed a post-shopping pint like the rest of us. After their legendary retail therapy sessions on Carnaby Street in the 1960s, John, Paul, George and Ringo would hole up in the Blue Posts. Built in the 18th Century and now owned by Greene King, this pub has a nice selection of beers and food is served in the first floor dining room. Blue Posts were used to mark out hunting grounds in the good old days when Soho was a royal park. Blue posts were also used as an early form of Boris bike - “sedan chairs are available where you see the blue post,” that sort of thing.  While the origin of the name is uncertain, we are all agreed that this is a fantastic little pub with a front room feel and a great floor. There are three pubs called the Blue Posts in Soho alone, so stick close to your guide because this Blue Posts is a favourite pub on any Soho tour. Enjoy responsibly.
