From Derbyshire, Heage Windmillers are currently reigning DERTy champions with teams in both age categories.  Can they sweep the board 3 years in a row?

To encourage the next generation of star performers, a separate Youth competition is included in the events.

The competition is divided into 2 age categories Juniors (under 12s) and Youths (under 18s).  Up to 1 dancer in each team may be slightly older than this, but if 2 or more are older then the team will not qualify for entry into the relevant competition.

Teams should compete to live music which may be performed by adults.  If teams are unable to provide their own musicians, they should contact us in advance to arrange one.

Characters can significantly add to performances, although teams without them will not be penalised.  Characters should be under 19 and may perform with multiple teams as long as a different calling on song is used for each.
